Distressed Victorian Art Journal Pages

I was in the mood for a bit of grunge, and also in the mood for some circles. I was inspired by Lynne Moncrieff’s article in Somerset Studio (May Jun Jul 2021).

I love the way my pages turned out. They are very layered, very grungy and distressed. I was going for a feel of Paris 1882, since that is when the images are from. Please feel free to use this Ehrichs’ Fashion Quarterly image in your own creations.

These dresses look so formal, and yet they were not considered appropriate for public wear because they did not require a corset. These were considered to be house dresses.

Here is my completed art journal spread from yesterday. If you’d like to see how I created this page, there is a full video tutorial on my YouTube channel.

Have a wonderful, artful day!
