Journaling — especially when combined with creativity — can be deeply transformative. It offers a personal space where your thoughts, memories, and feelings can land gently, outside the rush of daily life. In writing, you unburden your mind, notice recurring patterns, and gain clarity on what truly matters to you. This kind of reflective writing helps you tune into your inner world, guiding you toward greater self-understanding, emotional calm, and focus.
When you bring in art or “junk” journaling, the experience becomes even richer. Layering scraps of paper, textures, colors, found objects — all of these turn journaling into a tactile, sensory process that words alone cannot capture. It becomes a playful, meditative act of creativity and transformation: turning the ordinary, discarded, or overlooked into something meaningful and beautiful. For a person drawn to recycling, treasure-collecting, and creative play, this kind of journaling isn’t about perfection — it’s about honoring your memories, exploring your feelings, and creating a physical record of your inner life.
In that sense, journaling is not just a discipline or habit — it’s a gentle practice of self-expression, connection, and renewal. Through it, you build a personal archive of thoughts and experiences, a safe place to reflect, and a little world of your own creativity and calm.

Art saved me at a time when my life was very difficult. I had no training as an artist, but I had journaled with words for years and I was always creative as a child. I jumped into art journaling with both feet and never looked back. Creating art should be a joyful process. My goal is to encourage play and peaceful creativity.

I have always loved looking for treasures: sights, sounds, objects. I walked through the woods as a child, watching the trees for snakes and birds. I looked at the ground for lost objects -- I found a knife once and it became my whittling knife! These habits have never stopped. I am inspired by trash and recycle. My junky "trashy" journals always seem to turn into favorites.

My YouTube channel is where I show what I am working on and what I am offering for sale each week. I sometimes offer my popular FUN-PAX with accompanying videos showing ways to use your materials. I also list journals for sale when I am able. I have occasional zines for purchase and download on Ko-Fi. See social medial links below.
